Who prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses in Russia? –

In comparison to the majority of other European countries there are no “simple” optometrists in Russia . Cataracts – 

Is the partial or full clouding of the ocular crystalline lens, resulting of dramatically impaired vision.  Neglect with fixing the cataract can lead to a full clouding of the crystalline lens and eventual blindness.

Cataracts generally appear with ageing and the primary method of treatment is a “Conservative” therapy, based on the utilization of different drugs during the first stages of the disease including: Catachrom, Quinax Drops, etc.

Even combating the onset of cataracts with conservative therapy, it is well known that this method does not reverse or “cure” the already appeared cloudiness of the crystalline lens, but only (and in the best case) the treatment can slow down the progression of the decease.

Often surgery is the only remaining option to restore vision to the patient.  The best method of surgery is ultrasonic phacoemulsification, leaving no trauma or trace of the very lightly invasive procedure. 

The main difficulty of conservative treatment is the understanding the cause of advanced cataract.
